If you will be scheduling major surgery in the near future, give serious thought to scheduling two other important tasks: pre-operative and post-operative therapy.
Pre-operative therapy allows the body to maximize strength, flexibility and overall wellness before surgery. This preparation allows you to withstand the surgery itself more easily and pave the way for a smooth recovery.
After surgery, it's important to get moving again. Our therapists work closely with your doctor to get you moving as soon as possible after your procedure. Post-surgical physical therapy offers a controlled environment for a swifter, less complicated recuperation by regaining strength, regaining preoperative range of motion, and easing discomfort.
Together with your therapist and doctor, a goal-oriented treatment plan is made. To help you reach your goals, our therapists will use techniques such as ultrasound, electronic stimulation, dry needling, soft tissue massage, and various therapeutic exercises. We also have state of the art equipment, such as our Alter G Treadmill, that allows you to start moving earlier than usual.
Whether you are wanting to return to team sports, seasonal activities, such as hiking or cross country skiing, or getting back to fitness training, Therapy Works can help get you back to doing the activities you love most.
Our therapists offer services such as cupping, dry needling and blood flow restriction therapy. Using our Freedom Climber is a great whole body workout but also promotes cardiovascular improvement, balance, stamina, and flexibility. Our Alter G Treadmill allows you to achieve your goals sooner and smarter. Benefits include quicker rehab, training while protecting or recovering from an injury or surgery, and increasing training volume while minimizing stress-related injuries.
We also offer running evaluations which will fine tune your running form which can allow you to run injury free, increase speed and boost efficiency.
Occupational Therapy and Physical therapy can help you return to work after injury or illness. At Therapy Works, we offer a number of different services to help get you ready to return to work.
Immediately following your injury, we can assist with wound care and custom bracing and splinting. Our therapists will assess your injury and, along with your doctor, create a plan to get you back to work. Initially, therapies will include strengthening, regaining range of motion and decreasing pain. As you are preparing to return to work, we will transition into a work hardening program that will allow you to return to your pre-injury work level.
If your doctor is unsure of your capabilities or is having difficulty translating medical impairment into functional limitations, a functional capacity evaluation (FCE) can be performed. A functional capacity evaluation is used to assess your work-related capabilities and limitations.
Physical activity is important for people of any age, but it's especially important for older adults to prevent deconditioning and to maintain functional strength, endurance, and range of motion for everyday activities.
At Therapy Works, we want you to stay active and enjoy activities such as pickle ball, golf or gardening! Our therapists will provide you with exercises which will help your body stay flexible, improve circulation, maintain balance and stability and increase strength.
